Welcome!

About Us

Short Grass Limousin started in the mid 1980s with the purchase of a bred heifer.  This led to the purchase of more females and sires always selecting cattle with performance, good temperament while still being structurally sound.  Today there is approximately 80 bred purebred Limousin cows as well as approximately 100 commercial bred cows. We continually strive to improve the quality of the cattle in our herd through the  selection of the best from within the herd as well purchasing genetics to enhance the cow herd.  Only approximately a third of the bull and heifer calves make the cut which has  resulted in each calf crop showing improvement over the previous years.  Our hope is that our strict culling will not only lead to success in our herd but yours as well.  We want to help you select a bulls or females that will work in your herd by representing our cattle with honesty and integrity.  So who are the people behind the scenes that make these amazing cattle? Well, we are Trevor and Lorna Dyck along with our sons Wyatt and Leighton Dyck. (See picture below)
